Slimaluma™ is a patented extract (U.S patent #7,060,308) of the Caralluma fimbriata, a succulent plant and member of the cactus family, which has been successfully used as a natural appetite suppressant in India for centuries. Slimaluma™ has a proven safety record as demonstrated by five toxicology and mutagenicity studies. Several human clinical trials have proven its efficacy to suppress hunger, reduce body weight and body fat, reduce body mass index (BMI), and reduce waist and hip circumference. The proposed mechanism of weight loss appears to be through appetite control. The key phytochemical ingredients in Slimaluma™ appears to be the pregnane glycosides, flavone glycosides, and megastigmane glycosides. It has been proposed that the pregnane glycosides block lipogenesis (fat synthesis) by as much as 35% by inhibiting a key fat synthesis enzyme called ATP-citrate lyase. A second enzyme, malonyl coenzyme A, has also been postulated to be inhibited. Slimaluma™ has been shown to inhibit differentiation of pre-adipocytes into adipocytes (new fat cells) indicating the reduction of new fat cell lines. The specially selected Green Tea Extract contains highly concentrated levels of Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is the most predominant tea catechin and numerous studies have now demonstrated its effect in reducing body weight, mainly body fat by increasing thermogenesis and fat oxidation (fat burning). It has been proposed that the thermogenic stimulating effect of EGCG is by the inhibition of catechol-O-methyltransferase. Green Tea Extract also boosts and supports mood, enhances energy and promotes a sense of well-being.
Cocoa Nut Extract contains a wide variety of constituents including polyphenols, caffeine, tyramine, phenylethylamine (PEA) and theobromine. Theobromine is a primary compound found in chocolate and has effects as a mild natural stimulant and can boost energy and mood. Phenylethylamine (PEA) also acts as a natural stimulant to support weight loss. PEA helps to curb appetite and supports a positive mood and sense of well being without jitters or nervousness. Additional PEA has been added to the formula due to the benefits of this ingredient. The addition of Caffeine to Femme Lean & Balance provides an additional thermogenic benefit, to help speed up metabolism and fat oxidation effect Yerbe Mate Extract has been added as it contains caffeine, theobromine, theophylline and many other compounds. Yerbe Mate Extract is a natural stimulant, mild diuretic, and it promotes cleansing and detoxification during weight loss. Yerbe Mate Extract, when combined with Damiana Extract (Turnera diffusa) has been shown to prolong gastric emptying time (stomach fullness) resulting in statistically significant weight loss compared to a placebo.
The Femme Lean & Balance Hormonal Support Blend contains Soy Isoflavones to help balance estrogen and progesterone levels. There are many types of isoflavones which are chemically similar to the estrogens found in humans. Isoflavones help to support and maintain estrogen levels for maximum weight loss. In addition to the benefits of the Soy Isoflavones, we added Licorice root extract (DGL) Deglycyrrhized, a licorice preparation from which glycyrrhizic acid has been removed. Licorice has been shown to promote healthy estrogen and progesterone activity.
