Krill are small, shrimp-like, ocean-dwelling crustaceans that feed on microscopic phytoplankton and serve as food themselves for larger sea creatures, including whales, sharks and seals.
Neptune Krill Oil from Vitabay contains 100% pure, natural krill oil. Krill oil contains superior levels of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs) eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It is also rich in vitamin E and A, and functions as a powerful antioxidant. Krill Oil extracted from these crustaceans contains important phospholipids.
Omega-3s have been the subject of intensive research, due to repeated observations that people whose diets are high in fatty fish tend to be healthier than other populations. The most important omega-3 fatty acids are EPA and DHA.
